New York Cares Day for Schools is the largest organized day in service to public schools in NYC and a beloved city tradition. The day functions as both a fundraising and awareness campaign, as well as a day of service. In 2017, over 2,500 volunteers revitalized 38 Title 1 New York City Public Schools citywide in a single day, in addition to raising over $100,000. The event calls for heavy social media promotion, email marketing, and materials for fundraising. The design was inspired by chalk blackboards and crayons, the tools of school children. The colors used are all familiar names such as “Screamin Green” and “Shocking Pink,” well-known names for anyone who colored their heart out with crayons as a child.
Eivor was in charge of creating the event branding, as well as executing the design, including email marketing leading up to the day, social media campaign, printed materials, as well as materials for peer-to-peer fundraising.
